Soulmate

I have this song on my mp3 player... and I like it cuz it reflects some of my thoughts. So I thought I'd put the lyrics on here...in case u felt like reading them. I think the song kinda speaks for itself, its by Natasha Bedingfield. enough said.

Incompatible, it don't matter though
'cos someone's bound to hear my cry
Speak out if you do
You're not easy to find
Is it possible Mr. Loveable
Is already in my life?
Right in front of me
Or maybe you're in disguise
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
Who knows how to love you without being told
Somebody tell me why I'm on my own
If there's a soulmate for everyone
Here we are again,
circles never end
How do I find the perfect fit
There's enough for everyone
But I'm still waiting in line
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
Who knows how to love you without being told
Somebody tell me why I'm on my own
If there's a soulmate for everyone
If there's a soulmate for everyone
Most relationships seem so transitory
They're all good but not the permanent one
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
Who knows how to love you without being told
Somebody tell me why I'm on my own
If there's a soulmate for everyone
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
Who knows how to love you without being told
Somebody tell me why I'm on my own
If there's a soulmate for everyone
If there's a soulmate for everyone
My newest gym record..- 2.5 miles, in 25 minutes, the beginnings always hard, and i always do my utmost best to think of anything else then running, and I try not to look at the timer cuz it just drags by. The last couple minutes are always easier then the first 15-20. Im not gonna lie though, Im pretty proud of my body, and how much more in shape it is, not in the sense of being shapely but just in shape. Its good to know that Im not incapable of getting in shape and being able to run more then 10 meters.
So do you reckon a nanny update would be nice?
I said yes, and could potentially be a city girl in just a few weeks. Thats a very loaded sentence; But I wont go into detail today; just pray for me.
I spent Valentines day helping out at Hecla Radisson, with the buffet, serving etc. Long Long story short, Dresscode is all black to shoes.. I had one pair of black shoes, they have heels. I wore them. and worked on my feet for 12 hours, with barely a break. Never have I had pain like that,Even the hot italian chefs couldn't made me feel better. The last hours were excruciating. AGONY. at about 12:30 am, I broke down in the kitchen and started crying cuz I was in so much pain. I dont cry easily. I cried then, and all the way home after I snuck out the back of the kitchen. I drove home in my socks, but it didn't matter even after the shoes were off, it still hurt bad, My feet were totally swelled up, even the next day. I was supposed to go back on Sunday, but I couldn't even walk around my house never mind go do another 12 hour shift. So I didnt.. MY LESSON IS LEARNT.. next time I'll wear runners.. even if it is a 5 star resort. Don't get me wrong though, if it wouldn't have been for my feet. It woulda been a pretty good day!
Tonight I went to visit Sara and her new baby sister Miley, I LOVE newborns... nothing is more precious. Speaking of newborns...
Congratulations to Alex and Nanda of Cooma Australia on the birth of their Valentine baby girl (at least Valentine in Canada)

In other news.. I never mentioned it yet on here. But 2 of my best friends have big special days coming up this summer, and Im so happy for them.
Congratulations Sophia, your gonna make a wonderful wife for Nolan. I hope you'll have a very wonderful life together. Im super honored to be your bridesmaid, and super excited about the dresses, cuz they are beautiful.
Congratulations Krista!, I know you waited for that ring for a long time, and Im so happy it happened for you finally. Your gonna be a hot bride! Sams a lucky lucky man. I love ya!
I ain't gonna lie, I got some super amazing friends, My life had been blessed by them so many times over.
The highlight of my week? Getting a huge inflatable life like kangaroo in the mail from Australia. Makes me smile everytime I look at it, and I drag it around the house with me, Im thinking I should cruise around with it in my passenter seat, that'd be funny. Thanks again Chicken.

My cat ate my Moms Budgie

Today it rained in my favor, I know it sucked for the 1000's of Manitobans that hit the ditch and each other and the ground because of the ice, but for me, for today, I needed it. I called into work and said I didnt' want to try driving on this, and that was ok with the boss, so I promtly put myself back to bed and slept soundly till noon, and had a dream about all my Australian friends coming to visit me here.

This weekend was my big family gathering weekend, which was sweet. I really love my extended family, on both sides. This was my Barkman side. I did lots of chatting with my uncles and aunts about "my decision-making" which made me look at a few new angles of it all; but all in all made my decision that much heavier, so just when I thought I knew what I was gonna do, Im back to square 2. I still have a few days left to think about it, but how much thinking about something can you do? I want the job, no question there, I'd love the job. I know that. I'd also already convinced myself that being a city girl would be alright. I love the idea of being closer to more of my friends. So what is my problem you ask?

A. Taxes.

B. My future dreams.

These were the 2 things that were brought up this weekend. My uncles and aunts know me well. and the first thing that my uncle asked me when I mentioned that I was thinking about coming to the city was.

"What about Australia?"

I think everyone who knows me really well.. knows how badly I want to go back. Theres a small possibility that somehow it could still happen if I were a nanny... but it just seems quite unlikely, and that scares me, cuz its important to me. did I ever mention that I've thought about just up and moving there..being an aupair..

Moving across the world seems less scary to me then moving to Winnipeg.. funny how that works. Ignorance is pure bliss thats all I can say.

Then we were talking about going back to school.

What do I want to do when I grow up?

I wanna be a flight attendant, preferbly on West Jet. Then I can fly all the time, and work in the place I love the most. Which is the sky.

or a Photographer.

Moving to the city to be a nanny, although Im sure I would actually love it, is a big commitment, and commitments are not a bad thing, but it would make me a "settled down" person, cuz I wouldn't be able to up and do things like I could right now.Cuz after making all my payments I probably wouldn't have much left, and then where are you getting to? Buying a car made me partly a settled down person, cuz it limited how much of my paycheck i could actually save. But it doesn't stop me completly, it slows me down but doesnt stop me. People always tell me.."Do things while you can, while your young, while your single" the last one I hear alot.. "its ok to be single, you can do so much." and I want to do things, I want to make the most of these first years outta highschool, cuz its where Im gonna some of my biggest lifelong memories. So sometimes having a job that I dont love all that much.. seems to be an ok sacrafice cuz my boss is good about letting me go to camp and travel.

But like I was telling my mom earlier today.."I really want this nanny job"

ahh Im in such a pickle I just dont even know what to do. I could talk it in circles for ages. So i'll talk about something else now. Like this weekend.. heres some pictures:

Bloody Knuckles, is what I call this game now. See how small this air hockey table is? Do you think I can stay on my side of the red line. AH NO, I jam and hack until I score.. the result?

a very sore bruised and bleeding and hurting so much I can't even straighten it out hand. that sore may look small but it bled like a sucker

It even made playing Dutch Blitz a lil hard. My auntie Bonnie is Queen of this game.

Theres a rule of NO DIVING..which sucked.. so instead we "Jumped Creativly" On the left is Christy, my syncronized jumping partner, and Im on the right. we don't look very syncronized in this picture, but she did do the splits too, and then we came together for a pencil dive. 2012 Olympics here we come!

We played lots of Rock Band too.

Cross Country Skiing down onto the lake was one of the biggest hits of the weekend. The mojority of the family had never gone CCskiing before and out of the 15 or so of us that went at least 13 of us had wicked wipeouts. Good times though, and how cool is it that the same lake that we can ski on in summer, we can also ski on in winter. I wasn't able to get over this frozen wave so I said that I was just gonna lay there until spring when the water melts and swim in.

2010 Olympics here I come!

HY Yi Yi YI YI Ya!

Gym Update- Its been a month since I signed up, I've gone 20ish times, averaging abouts an hour each time. I'm up to 16 minutes running on the tready,(meaning running without walking) but that number changes every couple days cuz last week my record was 8. Its kinda exciting. I haven't lost much.. just a bit. So we'll see how much that changes over the next couple months.

Nanny in Winnipeg Update- this weekend I was in the city, I met "the mothers" as I call them (being the mothers that want a nanny-theres 2 and they are sister-in-laws) They were super nice-no problem there. The next day I got a supper invite to "Meet the Kids" loved them, all 6. they all got personalities, and are super cute. Verdict?!- I'm hired and want the job. Problemo!?!- I dont do amazing with change.. at first I thought Im scared but now I realize Im not really scared, cuz I love trying new things, Change is one problem, cuz this is a big one, and long term, its not just going someplace for awhile and then coming home, its moving, and making a new home. Its moving to a place thats never appealed to me before to move to, as much as I love spending weekends there and stuff, Im a country girl so thru and thru. I like my wide open spaces, and hwys that I can speed on without getting in trouble and black skies with bright stars, and no stop lights and traffic, and fresh air.. and so much of it. and cheaper car insurance and my precious lake that I can see from my house, and beach thats 10 minutes away. A front lawn that I can run half naked around cuz hey we got a thing called "not everybody can see you in your own yard" a huge flower garden that I can pick big massive bouquets from to put in my room. A road I can bike down for ages with the chance of even 1 vehicle going past me quite slim. Ditches I can hit, Mud I can get stuck in, Beaches I can get stuck on, a bank where everyone knows everyone, and half the people there are the mothers to the kids I take care of, and therefore they get to to see how much I get payed to look after their kids.. a lil weird. A hairdresser that I've gone to since I was 10, and knows your whole families history of hair, cuz hey everybody knows everybody and so on and so forth. People know how often you wash your car, and remind you everytime theres a speck of dust on it. Grandparents that live on the farm down the road. All you hear at night in summer is cows mooing in the distance, and frogs croaking, and crickets chirping and foxes barking, and coyotes howling (this is when I shut my window)

This is my country life. and I have 12 days to decide whether or not to give it up. Could it be that I could enjoy living in a city? Could it be that I could get used to it? Could it be that I would appreciate home so much more when I've left it? Could I be ok with rarely seeing my family that Im so tight with? Could I be ok with falling asleep to sirens? Could I be ok with the chances of being able to travel minimized? Could I be ok with this? Could I be ok with any of it? Could I be Okay? Yes I could. cuz if this is what God has in store for me, then its whats gonna happen. Awesome job opportunites don't grow on trees. Having Christian bosses-.. doesn't grow on trees, being able to talk about Jesus with kids without having to watch your back or "feel like your swearing" as Debbie puts it, doesn't grow on trees anymore. So after much much much thinking of this... and many minutes of staying up late at night thinking more, Im coming to my decision, key word is coming. Theres alot to leave behind, right down to my cat Max, and 6 fish.. well maybe they'll be able to come too, if they promise not to die in the city water. hahaha. Final decision yet to come. If your the praying kind, and you read this... plz pray 4 me? and if you want to help me make a decision.. tell me 100 awesome things about living in the city lol. (i've come up with 3...a great job, bunches of my bestest friends live there, apartment with a swimming pool in summer. (that is of course if my Stacey still reckons I can stay under their roof) oh and tell me how much gas you use if you drive across the city twice a day.
p.s i took the pic up top where Bishop is coming onto Pembina..
pps. dont take pics and drive at the same time.
